Flora Rabon Story

In a charming area known as Leaden Roding, there were two proud parents, Mr Joseph Rabon and Mrs Lillian Rabon (maiden name Saffet). They had four children: Harry, the eldest; Percy, the second; and their younger siblings, Flora and Maxwell Rabon. The children were born close together, which helped them develop a strong bond. They would join forces to tackle chores, assist with homework, and play games, always making sure everyone was included. The Rabon family was filled with joy, and the brothers were especially protective of their sister.

It all changed one day....
At 15, Flora was thrilled to receive permission to attend her best friend Sabrina's birthday party. Sabrina's parents had agreed to host a small gathering at their house until midnight, with the only condition being that her brothers would be present. Sabrina's two brothers were excited and took on the responsibility, saying, "Mum, Dad... come on, I'm 23 and he's 25, so we can definitely keep an eye on them, no problem!" Sabrina could hardly believe it and decided to invite twenty friends, including Flora, counting down the days until the party.

On the evening of the party, the brothers spoke to their sister Sabrina and her friend Flora, advising them to enjoy themselves while they kept a watchful eye on both of them. They reviewed the rules and outlined which areas were off-limits. Sabrina was filled with excitement as a small group of friends arrived, bringing gifts and drinks for the celebration, while she and Flora encouraged everyone to join in singing. The gathering included twelve girls and eight boys from school, a blend of close friends of both Flora and Sabrina. The brothers had invited their girlfriends, as their mother sensed that the boys needed some supervision. At 10 pm, the final guest would arrive; his name was Brady, and he was a very close friend to both the family and the brothers. Waiting outside, Brady would be with another person who was also waiting.

Brady (brother's friend): "Yo, you here for the celebration also?"
Jeremy: "Yeah mate, I thought it looked good from over there, so I came over. I am Jeremy"
Brady: "I get you, mate. I am Brady. Who do you know here?"

Before Jeremy answered the question, the door opened.

Nicholson (Sabrina's brother, aged 23): "Yo, mate.... It's great to see you here, thanks for coming over, bro, the BRADERS IS HERE!"
Brady: "Yes mate, it's good to see you, but I can not stay long, as you know I am moving tomorrow but mate, I needed to see you one more time before the move"
Nicholson: "You are moving but not far mate. You're going to be about two hours away and nothing will separate the trio, NOTHING (Raising one hand in the air), come in mate"

Brady walked in with Jeremy right behind him, while Nicholson joyfully closed the door, excited about his best friend's arrival. Jeremy was observing the scene, noticing friends dancing and everyone enjoying themselves. He headed over to the food area to get a drink and a sandwich, wanting to take in the lively atmosphere. As he turned around, he saw Sabrina and Flora looking at him. Maintaining his focus on them, he directed his eyes at Flora, indicating his interest in getting to know her further.

Sabrina: "Babe, he is into you; that cute guy over there can't take his eyes off you. Babe, you can see that, can't you?"
Flora: "Me? babe, come on, me? really? Well, yeah I guess he is cute but me? babe, you are funny as hell but honestly...me?"
Sabrina: "I am telling you now, he is super interested in you. Oh shit he is coming over to you now"
Jeremy: "Hello, my name is Jeremy and I wanted to ask you ... did we have class together? I could've sworn we had chemistry."

Sabrina smiled and walked off while Flora conversed with Jeremy about a variety of subjects, including that crafty chat-up line. It wasn't until 23:18 that Jeremy asked about going into the garden for a cigarette. Flora had told him she didn't smoke but would join him after letting Sabrina's brothers know, who were okay with it. They went outside and made their way to the furthest part of the garden, where they could not be easily seen, and sat on the grass.

Jeremy: "So I am really into you, Flora and I was wondering if there was any chance of this situation advancing. I mean, I never would pressure but you never know if you don't ask."
Flora: "Ohh, wow, ok your are straight to the point, aren't you but on a serious note, I am unsure. I am still a virgin, Jeremy, but I always wondered what it would be like. I guess drinking does not help"
Jeremy: "Well, let's try with a kiss and see what happens, shall we?"
Flora: "ohhh, ermm ok, (with a smile), yes"

Flora and Jeremy began kissing, and she treasured this meaningful moment as their hands explored each other passionately. Flora felt excited by the affection she'd always wanted and felt she deserved. This was her first time going this far, and she loved the feeling of being desired by someone. The alcohol she'd consumed helped ease her nervousness, and when she opened her eyes, she told Jeremy she was ready. Jeremy took the lead as they shared their first intimate encounter in a garden spot, hidden from sight. Flora was completely immersed in the experience and hoped it would continue for as long as possible. They engaged in various sexual activities—many that Jeremy was experienced in but entirely new to Flora. Though it felt like it was an experience that lasted a very long time to Flora, only thirty minutes had actually passed while they remained unnoticed at the party, lost in their own world.

Jeremy: "I am sorry I did not last very long but you are so very hot, I could not believe how lucky I am"
Flora: "That was my first time, so there is nothing to compare with but I liked it, I mean I liked it a lot"

They kissed some more until Sabrina came to the door

Sabrina: "FLORA!!! Where are you?"
Flora: "I am here babe, just chilling with Jeremy"
Sabrina: "Well come on, enough chatting and get back in here, as there is not much time left before the party comes to an end."
Flora: "OK, I AM COMING NOW! (looks at Jeremy) Are you coming also?"
Jeremy: (puts his hand on the side of her face) "Of course, come on, let's go and have fun"

After getting up and correcting her dress, they headed back to the house, and Flora felt wonderful as she dragged her friend Sabrina away from the dance

Sabrina: "You ok babe?"
Flora: "Babe...well I have....well, babe, I am not a virgin any more"

Sabrina wanted more information with a great deal of excitement, as Jeremy found it amusing watching from the sidelines. When the girls hugged each other, they made their way to dance with their other friends throughout the evening, failing to notice Jeremy's had left the house. The girls grew drunker into the late hours until their older brothers decided to halt the celebration: "Come on girls, it's already half past midnight!". The music came to a stop and guests departed for home while Flora remained overnight at her friend's home. Waking at 11 am the next day, the girls started their morning conversation

Flora: "Sab, I never got the chance to see Jeremy again. Did you see him go at all?"
Sabrina: "Babe, for all we know, he might have already said goodbye to us and we did not notice; we were super drunk"
Flora: "I do hope we see him again; I never got his details to get in touch"

The party was a success for all those who attended, with Flora wanting to find Jeremy once again. After a week, she decided to stop the search as no one had ever heard of anyone named Jeremy. On one of the nights in her bathroom, she would look into the mirror whilst brushing her hair (with a small laugh): "Another first for me, I guess, a one-night stand; who would think that would happen to me"

Six Weeks later...

The party slipped from Flora's thoughts as she engaged in wide-ranging conversations with friends, with Jeremy no longer occupying any space in her mind. Having lost her virginity gave Flora a new sense of security—she didn't feel the need to search for a partner anymore, knowing she was valued, with no pressure to move quickly. As she threw herself into her studies, something troubling began to bother her, and anxiety started to build. The problem made her fearful about the potential fallout and worried about how people might look at her. She knew exactly what she needed to do: she rushed to her closest friend, the sole person she could depend on to help her process what she'd just learned. Arriving at the door, Flora knocked rapidly, looking extremely worried.

Sabrina: "Hello babe, it's to see you....what are you......what has happened...babe, you're worrying me"
Flora: (starting to cry with a deeply worried look on her face): "Babe, I think....oh shit....I really need you right now. What have I done? oh babe, oh fuck...oh shit, oh...(collapse to the floor crying)"
Sabrina: (pulling her up for a hug and looking directly into her eyes)"Whatever the problem is, we can solve it together and you always have me. Now tell me, what has happened? Did someone hurt you?"
Flora: (whispers): "Babe...you know I have done everything for the first time...lost my virginity, met my first boyfriend, despite how short that was (now looking at her face with a sad impression). Now I am the first person to say that I am three weeks late...oh babe, what have I done? I am so very scared"

Sabrina stood there and looked confused by what Flora had just told her, until the realisation suddenly hit her. She quickly brought Flora inside and took her to her bedroom. Something told her to shut the curtains and lock the door whilst taking deep breaths. Sitting on the bed with her best friend, she took Flora's hands and softly asked

Sabrina: "Babe, don't worry, as we can do this together. You know we need to do a test? It's the only way to explain what is happening to you"
Flora: (with tears) "Yes...I.... oh, what am I going to do?"
Sabrina: "I do not know but we will have to cross that bridge when it arrives. Babe, what we need to do for now is that important test and see what it tells us before we make any decisions"

Flora nodded her head as they went upstairs into the bathroom together, where they would do the pregnancy test to reveal if she was going to be a mother or if it was something else causing the period to be late. As Flora did what was required, she would look at Sabrina, awaiting the result

Sabrina: "I don't know what to do if this comes back as a positive, babe"
Flora: "Let's see if that happens first, shall we? Bloody hell, how long do these things take?"

Six Weeks later...

The result started to appear...

Sabrina: "Babe....that's a....oh shit..."
Flora: "but it can't be....no.....what?...but how....what?"
Sabrina: "Yep, that's a second line, oh shit... you're pregnant"

In the living room, Flora observed her parents sitting on opposite ends of the sofa, each lost in their own thoughts. The mood suggested they had no desire for them to chat with one another. Her father was reading his newspaper while her mother concentrated on writing a letter. Sitting on the single armchair in the corner, Flora realised her parents hadn't noticed her in the room. Staring at the carpet, she whispered that now was the moment to tell them about her situation. Flora desperately wanted her mother's comfort and support, as she felt frightened about the uncertain future ahead.

Flora: "Mum and Dad, I need to tell you both something and ask for your help"
Lillian (mother): "As long as it does not take long, Flora, I am in the middle of writing a letter to a dear friend whom I wish to keep in contact with. With you lot always interrupting, how can I ever get it finished?"
Flora: "I am sorry, Mum, but it's very important and I need you to really help me"
Joseph (father): "What has happened now? How much is it going to cost me to fix this time Flora? You kids do nothing but bother us with problems but never with good news. The only time I get to myself, and I have to stop it all to listen to you"
Flora: "I am sorry, Dad, but please, I really need you both"

Flora wasn't surprised by this reaction from her parents since they had always behaved this way, and it was the reason why she had grown so close to her brothers—they all supported each other. She opened up to them about everything: the party, Jeremy, and ultimately, her pregnancy. The shock came not from their reaction to the news itself, but from the fact that her parents showed no concern whatsoever. It was the first moment in her life when Flora truly couldn't read them. There were usually obvious signs of their feelings—disappointment, excitement, or something else—but on this occasion, there was nothing whatsoever. Standing up first was her father;

Joseph: "Interesting information you gave us there, Flora but your timing is wrong. It is a large problem but help from us needs to be done in certainly way that does not cause problems"
Lillian: "I agree with your father, Flora. Your father and I are expecting to go on a long break soon but this complicates things for us. This is why I am writing this letter, as I am going to visit a friend whilst your father is going on a business trip. How do you suggest we do this with this news? Joseph, I find this to be truly upsetting that our daughter does this to us, knowing we need this break"
Joseph: "One minute there Lillian; where does it state that we do not proceed with the plans? You have your fun and I shall have mine but I believe we need to be honest with Flora to explain more. We do not wish to be the cause of any unfortunate events from happening, do we?"
Lillian: "Yes I agree with you and it's about time these children of ours should know the truth about us"
Joseph (with a serious facial expression): "See Flora, your mother and I have a secret life that we have not told any one about but now, with this news from you, which I believe to be a bit selfish, to be honest, well its forced our hand to tell the truth. Flora, me and your mother, well...we are...there is only one to say this, we are in an open marriage"
Lillian: "Now you know, surely you can see how this news can make our plans go wrong and this could make us split up. I was rather looking forward to having my sexual activities with my lover and your father likes to have fun in places with many people. But now, how can we possibly have that when you tell us this announcement? Was there any consideration for our feelings at all?"

Flora could not believe what she was listening to, as her parents were more concerned about their own situation and were choosing to ignore what she was saying and asking as they continued

Joseph: "Lillian, this changes nothing for us, and I believe the solution to this big mistake is in front of us. (walking around) No, our plans will not change and I will not allow our marriage to decay due to a selfish act that she has done. This is what we are going to do, Flora and listen carefully to me. This news of expecting a child will stay with only us three and no other. You will tell your brothers that you hava e disease that makes your belly swell up and need help from the hospital; the birthday will be the time we say you had an operation"
Lillian: "Yes, say its something to do with Gastrointestinal; that shall do it perfectly. No one will check, they are not educated enough to even understand"
Joseph: "Fantastic Lillian. When the time comes, you will surrender that baby up for adoption and tell them that this is your decision and no others"
Lillian: "And what about us Joseph? We need to think about crisis control here in case something is told"
Joseph: "We will tell them all that she went behind our backs and never told us about this mistake"
Flora (crying and very sad): "But Mum....Dad, how can I....please don't do this, I need your help, I need you here with me, I am so very scared"
Lillian: "Stop them pathetic tears and woman up, for goodness sake, what have we raised here, Joseph?"
Joseph: "Someone who believes it's all about themselves"
Flora (not looking at them): "and if I choose to go against you both?"
Lillian: "Don't try to push your luck with us young lady as you will lose. You don't agree to these terms and see sense; we will make sure that you have no room here and will be known as the whore of the house. I am embarrassed by you and that mistake within you. You have nowhere to go, grand parents are no where and you are all alone. I guess we can always supply you with a cardboard box to live in, as we don't want to be seen as not caring. How dare you do this to us both! You never thought of us when you opened up those disgusting legs of yours. You are disgusting and I will never accept that child of yours, never. Let's see how you survive with no money, no home and no food or do as you are told!"
Joseph: "Now please leave us; we need to discuss our trips, as this news has made me feel upset. I need some action soon and your mother is going to help me find some. You want support, go and ask those useless brothers of yours. Oh...close the door on the way out and speak no more about this with us both"

As Flora left the living room, she headed straight to her bedroom, where she had settled onto her bed in the corner, remaining completely still. Over the next five days, Flora only emerged from her room to use the bathroom and grab some food, but she didn't speak to anyone. Her brothers were quite puzzled about what was going on, yet Flora gave them no response whatsoever during those five days. Eventually, Flora decided with herself that this pregnancy had to continue, but for that to happen, she needed to follow her parents' rules. After that difficult day, Flora barely spoke with her parents, offering only brief answers when they asked her questions. This didn't bother them at all as they carried on with their plans. There were moments when the parents seemed to forget she was even there, hearing all sorts of sounds around the house, but none of that mattered to Flora—she had just one thing on her mind, and that was her child.

As Flora's pregnancy progressed, her connection with Sabrina faded since she was completely focused on her baby. She lost faith in the people around her and isolated herself from those she knew. As her pregnancy advanced, her brothers naturally started questioning the changes they noticed. On her parents advice, Flora explained that she was dealing with an illness, which was the reason for her withdrawal from family life. She mentioned that the healthcare system had a long waiting list for her treatment and that her condition wasn't urgent, though she did experience occasional symptoms such as being sick. The most difficult part of being pregnant was dealing with her food cravings when there wasn't much available at home to satisfy them. Still, she managed to get through it, keeping her baby's safety and health as her only priority. During these times, there was no support at all from her parents, as they spoke about many things but never acknowledged that their daughter needed support.

As Flora distanced herself from her social circle, she sought refuge in public libraries to educate herself about pregnancy and what lay ahead. Her complete attention was devoted to safeguarding her unborn child, as medical supervision wasn't available to her. Her parents kept everything confidential, including keeping the news away from the family doctor and telling the school that he would stop funding them if they asked questions. The school would accept the explanation of the problem, as the head master was a personal friend and said, "that these things happen." Her father would speak once or twice about the subject and would say, "If you lose it, let it be a lesson to you". Rather than upsetting her, his harsh words inspired her to make certain everything went smoothly. She would speak lovingly to her belly, telling her unborn child how deeply they were wanted and that eventually, the complete truth would be told. Though the library resources were beneficial, the crushing sense of isolation affected her deeply. The problem she had was that she did not trust anyone; her parents made sure she felt this.

Flora found herself battling sadness and uncertainty about life's purpose, wondering if there was any point to living when something happened that took an unexpected turn. Lying on her bed with her hand on her belly, she was questioning whether it made sense to stay. After losing her connection with her friend and brothers—her primary support system—she couldn't find any meaning in her own life. But then something awakened within her. Flora felt a bump in her belly "What was that?" she murmured, sitting up taller. Another bump occurred, and as she placed her hand on her belly, a warm smile appeared on her face. In that split second, she understood that this wasn't just about her anymore—there was a new life that needed her. This small living person within her was reminding Flora that she was not alone and life was only starting. This baby needed its mother, and it was at this moment she realised that changes had to be made.

Sitting at her desk, she wrote a long letter to Sabrina, explaining everything, apologising for being distant in the hope of gaining her understanding. In the letter, she explained about her cruel parents and how they blackmailed her into doing the wrong thing but she understood that now was the time she needed to do what was correct. She began keeping a journal documenting the events and all the conversations her parents had shared with her about the child she carried. It was this planning that helped Flora understand that the adoption would be the best choice to ensure her child's safety and well-being. The home environment wasn't welcoming and simply wasn't suitable for raising a child. Her maternal instincts awakened as she took action to protect her child's future. This child would never be welcome here and it would be a life of nothing but heartache. It was never going to be an easy decision but she knew this was the safest way for her child to be allowed to live.

Flora started the next part of her plan and built a new relationship with her brothers. She explained to them that depression is truly an awful thing to go through and apologised for not being there with them all. The brothers were delighted to welcome their sister back and started helping her feel better about herself. The brothers did say to Flora that there was nothing to apologise for and that they were there for them. Fourteen days after sending the letter, an unexpected knock on the door shifted everything for Flora. As she answered the door, she found herself smiling again.

Sabrina: "Hello stranger...we need to talk about something, I believe? (showing the letter in her hand)"
Flora (giving her friend a large hug): "Thank you for coming...I don't know how this is going to go, but I am grateful you are here and I have really missed you. I am so very sorry"

Going upstairs into Flora's room, Sabrina would give her best friend one big hug;

Sabrina: "I have been really worried about you; I never knew what I did wrong until your letter arrived. Now explain everything to me and don't hold back on anything!"

While they talked through everything that had happened, Sabrina felt genuinely concerned for her friend being alone during these difficult times, though neither girl blamed the other. Sabrina was emotional for a lot of the explaining as she realised how alone Flora had been. The moments in the library, trying to work everything by herself, and the horrible time when her parents had made her feel like she was worth nothing. While they talked through everything that had happened, the adoption became their primary challenge, and fortunately, there was someone at the school who was prepared to support them: Miss Torrin, a library assistant.

It wasn't long before Sabrina and Flora decided to move forward with their plan together. They reached out to Miss Torrin at the end of the day to go over all the details. Miss Torrin recognised that Flora needed support, but the challenge was that senior management was accepting bribes, which made things difficult for everyone involved. Following several additional conversations, Miss Torrin arranged a meeting with her relative who worked at social services. During this meeting, they explained the situation regarding Flora's pregnancy, though they didn't disclose what was happening at home. The group discussed adoption options and made plans to see a counsellor, ensuring they'd receive the guidance needed to confirm this was the right choice for Flora.

Flora's father responded positively when reached out to, letting them know he backed the whole situation completely and told them to proceed with making the necessary arrangements. Everything took a while to organise, but eventually all the pieces fell into place for when the time came. Flora was truly appreciative of Miss Torrin's discretion in not revealing the complete story and was deeply thankful for her role in arranging the meeting with minimal information being disclosed to others. Flora mentioned that she had been anxious about how her parents might have reacted, and she felt confident that keeping things under wraps gave her child a much better shot at having a fulfilling life.

This was far from easy to do; it was extremely hard for Flora, but deep down, she knew that her parents could have done far worse. She would convince herself many times that her parents would have forcefully taken the child away and that she would never know what had happened, but now, with the correct people in place, the child's future was much brighter. In the diary of Flora, there was a part that stated

"Today I had, with the support of Sabrina, made the hardest decision that any person could make. I am so very much in love with my child but know that my parents, who I hate to call my parents, might have had something far worse planned for my baby boy or girl. I can not take the risk; I can not allow my child to be in a position of being unsafe, and I must take action. I love my child and its this reason I must do what I need to do to ensure his or her safety. I can not picture a future without that child near me but knowing that he or she is safe is far better than knowing nothing, which I believe my parents would have done. This baby is the world to me and I do hope that one day, I will be able to cuddle him or her and say that I love you so very much. It's a bright future for the child and a nightmare for me being separated, but I know this is the correct way of doing things. I can only hope that I am forgiven and that my child will understand that I do this out of love, never hatred, always love. It's going to be so very hard for me, so very painful and so very upsetting but my parents have given me no choice...no options, only sadness. Please forgive me but I...I will find it hard to forgive myself but I will wait until that one day you will see once again when I will tell you everything that has happened and listen to the joy of who you become"

Life changed...

The moment arrived when Flora went into labour, her waters breaking suddenly. Sabrina, being the devoted friend she was, didn't hesitate to get Flora to the hospital right away. Upon hearing the news, the brothers made their way there as fast as they could, though the parents decided to stay home, wanting nothing to do with what was happening. Throughout the entire birth, Sabrina stood loyally beside Flora, and when their beautiful, healthy baby boy entered the world, they both wept with happiness at the sound of his precious first cries. Once the nurse brought the newborn over to Flora for that magical first embrace, she turned and asked;

Nurse: "There is always time for you to rethink your decision. This is no pressure but we must make sure you understand your decision"
Flora: "Thank you....(looking at her baby as the nurse walks over to a station to put items into place) On this very day, your name will be Chester and I welcome you to the world that we all live in, Know that you are loved, wanted and someone who will remain a part of my heart forever in time. I promise you that I will be here, even if it's a whisper but know Chester, that this day must continue for your own safety. You are as beautiful as a butterfly but I must say goodbye to you, my darling. I am forced to let you go, but know that a part of my heart will always be with you until we meet again. I love you son with all my heart and I can only hope that one day you will see me again and say 'hi mum'."

The nurse had taken Chester away from Flora very gently as she cried into Sabrina, knowing she wouldn't see her son again for at least 18 years. The adoption terms required this arrangement, stipulating that his birth name would remain unchanged. Deeply heartbroken, Flora sought comfort from Sabrina, who was equally upset, understanding they had no alternative at the time. As Flora was escorted back to the ward to shower, Sabrina headed to Flora's brothers, who had been waiting to receive news about their sister. Sabrina only confirmed that the operation was entirely successful and that the abdominal area would return to its normal state.

The brothers were thrilled, but they struggled to understand why Sabrina was still very upset if Flora's operation was successful. Sabrina explained how tired they both were and how worrying the situation was becoming; the brothers accepted this explanation and offered their sister a lot of love that she was now ok. Sadly, this day weighed heavily on Flora's mind, who experienced a deep depression and sense of loss, something only Sabrina recognised among their family members. Flora began to avoid going out and withdrew socially, discovering it challenging to have faith in people when Sabrina wasn't present.

It took another six years before she felt brave enough to start dating again, and her confidence blossomed as she experienced new areas of socialising. Now at 21, Sabrina and Flora were living together and were very happy with the life they had and where they lived. Sabrina wasn't in a romantic relationship, but Flora was happily involved with a man named Jack, someone who was respectful, genuinely kind, and made her feel treasured and loved. Flora didn't share anything about Chester with Jack, though she did mention that a past relationship had shown her the value of moving at a slower pace. Because Jack's job required him to travel a great deal, they couldn't see one another every single day, but Flora absolutely loved the occasions when they were able to be together.

Jack recognised that certain things require patience and waited two months for her to feel prepared to advance their relationship further. Flora never stopped thinking about her son and continued to update her diary, documenting how her connection with her parents had reached its lowest point. She barely communicated with them, and they never inquired about or mentioned Chester, even though they had been informed of his birth. Jack represented a fresh opportunity for her, and she committed to spending as much time with him as she could but was always careful. Sabrina remained closely connected to Flora and made sure to not let her out of her sight. Life was going as well as it possibly could for all of them, yet there was always a part of Flora that continuously wondered, "Is he okay, is he healthy, and is he being cared for with love? Will he ever forgive me for what I chose on that day? Will I ever see him again?"

About ten months into their relationship, life threw Flora another curveball when a condom unexpectedly broke without either of them realising it. Late one evening, they were intimate as they normally would be, and once they finished, Jack disposed of the condom without giving it a second thought. What they didn't know was that the condom had already split before they even started. It wasn't until Flora's period was late that she called Sabrina again, "You won't believe what's happened!" Flora took a pregnancy test, and it came back positive. This time, however, she wasn't living under her parents rules. Flora felt conflicted, unsure whether she was happy or sad—but she knew this situation would be different. Sabrina felt uncertain too and advised her friend to be cautious, though she assured her she had always be there for her.

A week later, Flora decided to tell Jack the news and it was a moment in her life where everything would change for her.

Flora: "babe, I need to tell you something that has happened and I need you to be calm"
Jack: "Ermmm ok, what do I need to know?"
Flora: "You will need to promise me that you will not overreact as this might impact you more than you think"
Jack: "Yeah, of course. Tell me, what is happening?"
Flora: "Well, it looks like one of the condoms might not have worked as..."
Jack (Standing up and looking concerned): "Don't say it, Flora... don't say it"
Flora: "that I am pregnant? Because I am"

Jack's reaction surprised Flora as he kicked the stall and punched the wall whilst shouting many swearing words

Jack: "Who is the father?"
Flora: "You are, of course. I have been with no other person"
Jack: "How the fuck did this happen? How the fuck did this happen to me!"
Flora: "Calm down Jack!. Look, it must have been that time when seen that large stain on the sheets; the condom must have broken. Are you not ok with this?
Jack: "How the fuck can I be ok with this Flora? How the fuck am I going to tell my wife that I got another woman pregnant!"
Flora (looking confused): "Did you say wife?"
Jack: "Yes my fucking wife, oh shit when she finds out I'm going to have a child with someone like you, arhhhh!!! (punches the wall again) This is too much, your simply not worth it. You need to abort now"
Flora: "Abort? oh hang on...what wife? What are you talking about Jack?"
Jack: "Yes wife, you are nothing but something to pass the time and now you have tricked me into having a baby. Well, I say NO!"
Flora (heartbroken): "What do you mean, to pass the time, ohhhh this is not happening, what?..... shit....what wife?"

Jack had only then just realised that he never told Flora about his wife and decided it was far better to solve the issue himself. Walking fast towards her, he started to attack her, making Flora fall to the floor. She defended only her belly as he would punch and kick whilst getting angrier with each attack. "DON'T GET IN TOUCH WITH ME AGAIN, YOU WORTHLESS PIECE OF SHIT, I FUCKING HATE YOU AND YOU HAVE RUINED EVERYTHING, I WILL NOT ALLOW YOU TO DO THIS TO ME!!!". He stopped his attack and grabbed everything he had and walked away until he got to the door and looked back "You were worthless to me, just a bit of fun, but even that was questionable. Fuck you bitch and never contact me again. I never knew you". He closed the door behind him and walked away as Flora remained in pain on the floor, upset.

An hour passed before Sabrina arrived home and discovered Flora lying on the floor. "OH SHIT" as she rushed to her friend's side. Flora explained what had happened, with Sabrina's frustration increasing. "What's with all this bad luck with bloody men? It follows you around?" she asked. Without hesitation, Sabrina called for an ambulance, with Sabrina staying close throughout the journey. At the hospital, a doctor came to check on Flora and she explained that she was pregnant, ensuring she had received proper care. Flora felt more at ease and expressed how grateful she was to have Sabrina always being there for her, never letting her down. "Maybe you should date me instead of these guys, just a thought," Sabrina joked, and they both laughed. Medical tests were run and various body examinations were conducted to monitor her condition.

Sabrina: "Is the baby safe, doctor?"
Doctor: "You are in the very early stages of pregnancy, Flora, which means there remains a considerable possibility that complications could arise. That said, based on the nature of your injuries and the protective measures your body took to shield your abdominal region, I am cautiously optimistic about your pregnancy's prospects. Nevertheless, out of an abundance of caution, we should maintain close monitoring to ensure everything progresses favorably. I must emphasise the importance of remaining vigilant regarding any vaginal bleeding. Additionally, there are several injuries that require your careful attention and proper care."
Sabrina: "I will make sure she is safe doctor, I will look after her and this time you will not be alone"
Flora: "Thank you, Doctor. Looks like I am going to be in safe hands"

Several days later, whilst Flora was in hospital, Sabrina contacted Harry (Flora's brother) about the attack. He stopped everything he was doing and arrived at the hospital as quickly as he could. He was devastated to see his sister in such a bad state and broke down.

Harry: "Sis, you need to tell me everything. What has happened to you?"
Flora: "Harry, please stop crying. I will be ok; Sabrina will look after me. Please, just trust me"
Harry: "I do trust you, but you need to tell me what happened"

This time, Flora could no longer hide what had happened to her after all these years, as she explained to Harry about everything, including what had happened to Chester. He held her hand and looked into her eyes. Harry would listen to every word and would try to show support until she had finished, with Sabrina beside them.

Harry: "Flo, you don't have to worry any more because I'm here. There is no shame in you at all; all the shame comes from the pathetic excuse of what they call themself as parents. It explains a lot why you have drifted away from your friends and, more importantly, your brothers. I am here now and always will be; we love you and you are not alone. I never knew I was an uncle and it's a nice feeling and I can tell you now: you are loved by us, never an embarrassment".
Flora: "What will Max and Percy think? I don't know where I would have been without Sabrina, Harry. I really don't, and I....well I just love her so much"
Harry: "I am so very thankful to you Sabrina. With Max and Percy, they'll be angry with Mum and Dad. They'll be fine with you, but we have to tell them to get them on board."

Flora promised to share the full story with her brothers when Harry reached out to ask them both to rush to the hospital after their sister was assaulted. Just like Harry, they had to hurry over as fast as they could. When they arrived, they listened carefully to everything their sister had experienced and felt deeply moved by all the hardship she had gone through.

Maxwell: "Sis, I love you more than anything and I'm sorry you had to go through this alone. We will find Chester, which is a cool name, and when we do, he will be welcomed with open arms. We will make sure of that sis. You are not alone and you never will be again. I love you."
Flora: "Thank you, Max and all of you. I should have come to you all first but mum and dad made me feel that I was nothing but the shame of the family, how wrong I was"

Frustrated by recent events, the brothers set out to locate Jack using the details they had received. Finding him proved quick and easy; they soon caught up with him and dragged him into an alleyway. Jack felt confused about what was going on, but the brothers deliberately chose a section of the alley where few people could spot them.

Percy: "Hello Jackie! We have a problem and it needs to be discussed now, you fucking tosser"
Jack: "Who the fuck are you and what are you talking about?"

Percy didn't like that answer and punched Jack in the stomach. "How do you like that, dickhead? You did this to our sister and now it's payback time."

Jack: "Sister...oh shit, you mean Flora; look, she's going to ruin everything. You don't understand, I mean....oh shit"

This time Harry headbutted him as he fell to the floor "Get up now" as Maxwell kicked him. Jack slowly got to his feet and looked at them all.

Harry: "What are you going to do about this situation you put my sister into? Firstly, you hit my sister and that is not good. Secondly, she has a baby inside her that you tried to kill, this is our family and we don't like people hitting our family"
Jack (started to panic): "What do you want me to do, please anything, fuck man, I did not mean to hurt her, shit".

This was an unacceptable answer, as Percy attacked him again, but this time Jack shouted "I WILL DO IT, I WILL DO IT, PLEASE STOP" Harry pushed his brother away and asked,

Harry: "Do what Jackie and be quick before my brother gets upset again?"
Jack: "I will give Flora money to support her but she must never tell anyone who I am, never. I can not allow this news to come out, it will ruin me in ways you would never guess, please man, no more, please"

Harry looked at his brothers as Maxwell stepped forward,

Maxwell: "You will do this until the child moves out of her mother's flat and you will pay every month. You will give enough to pay for her rent, bills and food. Do you hear me, fool?"

Jack agreed, but it was not enough, as Percy took his wallet and took out the money, his driving licence and an important photograph of him with his wife.

Percy: "Oh, look at what we have here bros, (small laughter). You cannot make this shit up! The wife Flo said she knew nothing about"
Jack: "That's my wife; nothing for you to worry about."
Maxwell (laughed): "That's more than his wife, brothers, that Florence, daughter of the richest family in the area."
Harry: "So you're playing around because she won't deliver, but you stick around for the money but this time you went to the wrong woman, got her knocked up and thought you could just simply beat away your problems. But this time your plan backfired...you forgot about us"
Jack (knew his time was up as he pleaded with them): "I will do anything, I'll agree to anything if you keep it quiet, I can not have a life without my wife. Yeah ok, I was looking for fun but that was all it was meant to be but becoming a dad, well, that got me, so I panicked (gets nervous) but I should not have done that, shit, I fucked up"
Percy (smiling), "I think he has more than one lady with children, but there is only one that matters to me. We can beat the shit out of you but one phone call to your wife and anything we do will be nothing compared to what she will do to you"

They took him to his car and forced him to write a letter detailing everything he had done to Flora, including beating her up for the sole purpose of killing the baby inside her. They also made him sign the document with a thumbprint added using his blood. He was warned that they had his details and would publish them in the newspaper, disgracing the powerful family he had married into. Jack did as he was told and found a place for a relative, which was approved. The child was never told who the father was until he or she was ready to search that matter in their own time. Flora and her brothers would tell others that it was a one-night stand with suggestions of who it might have been. With the support of her brothers, Edith was born and this time Flora held her baby as she looked at her with much love, "We will find your brother, I promise you, Edith. I love you both so very much". Her brothers were so pleased and happy to have a niece as they all celebrated the new addition to the family.

What happened after...

Flora and Sabrina: Once Edith reached four years old, Harry felt the time had come to arrange a special evening out for both ladies. He had reserved a table at a restaurant run by a close friend and was excited to take on the responsibility of looking after his niece. Seated in a private room, they reminisced about all the events that had unfolded over time. Then the moment finally arrived when Flora and Sabrina exchanged their first kiss. They gradually moved closer, and the desire between them became to point that neither of them could no longer ignore. Sabrina shared her heart, revealing that she had loved Flora since the day Chester was born and was ready to build a future together. Their connection remained very stable and very happy with each other, raising their daughter.

Flora's Brothers: They were very pleased when Flora told them, after some time, that she was in a relationship with Sabrina, with Max saying, "About bloody time, don't you think sis?" The acceptance made Flora happy as they all helped raise Edith. The brothers were still searching for Chester and were never going to quit until their family was reunited once again.

The parents: As they got older, they would start to realise that the open marriage was showing that they had no meaning to each other. The feeling between them both was that they were roommates, with both bringing partners back for meals. Surprisingly, they never got divorced but things did turn badly for the Lillan, as her lover had cheated on her with Joseph and was in a threesome. She pretended to ok with it but deep down, she was devastated. It was Percy who told her, "You have two grandchildren, one that I see every week and another you took away from us all". It was said that Lillian regretted the situation with Chester and wanted to meet Edith but as of this writing, this has not yet happened.
